This privacy policy explains how Sitster Ltd (“us” / “we” / “our”) will deal with any personal data that you might supply to us (or that might be collected from you) by using the Sitster App (“Information”). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. The Information shall be used in accordance with the permissions granted by you and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”).

This Privacy Policy applies to the use of Information collected via our Sitster App and/or Sitster website (“Sitster”). It does not apply to your communications with any other third party. This Privacy Policy forms part of the App Terms of Use.

Our use of your Information

By using Sitster, you consent to our collection and use of your Information as described in this Privacy Policy.

  1. By using Sitster you consent to us accessing the contact list on your device in order for you to be able to find friends who use Sitster and invite them to join your babysitting group(s). We will not use the contact list for any other purpose and we will not store your contact list on our servers. We will also collect your login credentials to your social network accounts, such as Facebook, if you choose to connect those accounts with your Sitster account.

By using Sitster you consent to us collecting and using your name, email address, date of birth, home address, phone number, profile photos, child/childrens’ name, gender and date of birth and any other information you provide to us. This information will only be shared with members of your babysitting groups and will be encrypted before being stored on our servers. We also encrypt passwords for extra security.
  3. By using Sitster, you consent to us collecting and using technical information about the devices which you use in connection with Sitster. We use “cookies” and web server logs for system administration and to ensure that content from Sitster is presented in the most effective way for you and your device but this information is statistical data about your actions and does not identify you as an individual.   4. By using Sitster you consent to us using the Information for the following purposes:

  6. to respond to your emails, questions, comments, requests or complaints and to provide customer service;
  7. to monitor and analyse usage and trends and to personalise and improve Sitster and your experiences when you use it, such as providing content or features that match your profile (including ads) and to increase the functionality and user friendliness of our services;
  8. to send you confirmations, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages and otherwise facilitate your use of and our administration and operation of our services;
  9. to find and connect with your friends (when instructed by you);
  10. for any other purpose for which the information was collected.

Sharing Information with third parties
We will not share the Information we have collected from you, except as described below:

We are not responsible for the actions of service providers or other third parties, nor are we responsible for any additional information you provide directly to any third parties.
Sitster may contain some links to other third party websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other third party sites. This Privacy Policy applies solely to the Information collected by us via Sitster.
Storing your Information

The Information that we collect from you is safely stored in our data centre in Europe (Ireland). Any sensitive personal data will be encrypted. We do not store your device’s contact lists. The Information may be transferred to and stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). The Information may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us. By submitting Information to us, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your Information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Act.

Our retention of your Information
If you no longer want us to store your Information you may request for it to be removed from our records, please see below for details of how to request removal. Please note that such removal may prevent you from accessing Sitster.

Correcting, updating and removing your Information
If you have an account you can access and modify the personal information you provided us that is associated with your account. You may ‘opt out’ of receiving marketing or promotional emails from us by changing your account preferences or by following the instructions in those emails. If you opt out of these messages, you will still receive emails from us about your account and other pertinent information related to our services. These communications are considered part of the service and your account, which you cannot opt-out from receiving.

If you would like your Information to be removed from our records or if your Information requires amending then we will endeavour to correct, update or remove your Information as swiftly as possible. This can be done by writing to us at our registered office address.

By using Sitster you consent to sharing the Information with members of your babysitting groups. We are not responsible or liable for the disclosure or misuse of the Information by members of your babysitting groups. However, all users of Sitster are required to accept the Sitster App Terms of Use [insert link], which expressly prohibit the misuse of personal information shared on Sitster by members of a user’s babysitting group.

We take reasonable measures to protect your Information in an effort to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Please be aware, however, that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against nay interception or other type of misuse.
Changes to this policy

We may change this policy from time to time and if we do, we will post any changes on this page and revise the ‘last updated’ date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. If you continue to use Sitster after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy. If the changes are significant, we may provide a more prominent notice or get your consent, as required by law.
